The Town of Selbyville announces that on Monday, May 1, 2017, after a Public Hearing and Notice, the Mayor and Council voted in final approval to order that a Special Election be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, for the purpose of voting for or against the issuance of up to $500,000.00 maximum principal amount of general obligation bonds to provide financing for the construction costs associated with the Town’s approved MTBE Removal Project to provide drinking water system treatment for the removal of the contaminant. The Town anticipates that the bonds will be payable over a 30 year period, interest at 0% per annum and 100% principal forgiveness upon completion of the project.  The Special Election will take place at the Town Hall located at 68 W. Church Street, Selbyville, Delaware.  The polls will open at 9:00 A.M. and shall close at 3:00 P.M.  Any person who is entitled to vote during an annual election shall be entitled to one (1) vote in the Special Election.  Voter Registration shall be open until 4:00 P.M. on Friday, June 2, 2017.
