Tax Rate Adjustment Notice
Date Posted: Tuesday, March 24th, 2026Our charter requires the Town to use the Sussex County assessment list; however, the Town sets its own tax rate.
Following the recent countywide reassessment, the Town has adjusted its tax rates to keep any increases for residents and businesses to a minimum.
The previous tax rate was $2.15 per $100 of assessed value. The new tax rates are:
- Residential: $0.135 per $100 of assessed value
- Commercial: $0.250 per $100 of assessed value
