Bank of Ocean City is Now Open in Selbyville

Outside Contractor’s Business License Requirement
On Monday, May 1, 2023, the Mayor & Council of the Town of Selbyville passed an ordinance to amend the Code of the Town of Selbyville to include a requirement that a Town Business License must be obtained for any person, without an establishment located within Town limits, who is engaged for profit in selling any and all merchandise and/or given commodities and/or in providing facilities, services, rental units and/or food service anywhere within the Town limits.

NOTICE – REGULAR TOWN COUNCIL MEETINGS NOW BEGIN AT 6:00 P.M.
ON MONDAY, APRIL 3, 2023, THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SELBYVILLE PASSED A
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING 6:00PM AS THE TIME FOR THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETINGS OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SELBYVILLE AS AUTHORIZED BY SECTION 7.2 OF THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF SELBYVILLE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 7.2 of the Charter of the Town of Selbyville, the Mayor and Council shall designate the time and days of their Regular Meetings; and
WHEREAS, for many years, pursuant to a previous decision of the Mayor and Council, the Regular Meetings of the Mayor and Council have been held on the first Monday of every month beginning at 7:00PM, unless the first Monday of the month is a legal holiday, in which case the Regular Meeting is held the following, second Monday of the month, beginning at 7:00PM; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council would like to begin their Regular Meetings earlier, at 6:00PM, instead of 7:00PM.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Selbyville that, pursuant to the authority set forth in Section 7.2 of the Charter of the Town of Selbyville, the Regular Meetings of the Mayor and Council shall be held on the first Monday of every month beginning at 6:00PM, unless the first Monday of the month is a legal holiday, in which case the Regular Meeting shall be held the following, second Monday of the month, beginning at 6:00PM.

TOWN OF SELBYVILLE ELECTION
The Mayor seat was vacant and one filed for the seat, Richard A. Duncan, Sr., and also two Councilman seats were vacant and two filed for the two seats, Chris S. Snader, Sr., and Gary L. Steffen.
There will not be a Town Election on March 4, 2023.
The candidates will be sworn in at the next Town Council Meeting on March 13, 2023.

Selbyville Public Library Groundbreaking Event Tuesday, October 4, 2022
Selbyville residents and advocates crowded together on the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 4, to celebrate the groundbreaking for a new, 14,000-square-foot, $13 million structure expected to open behind the current building in late fall or early winter of 2023.

Congratulations to Chief W. Scott Collins on his retirement from the Selbyville Police Department. We are thankful for his dedicated service in the department and community over the last 30 years.
