2025 Ocean to Bay Bike Tour

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 2025 Ocean to Bay Bike Tour Gears Up for May 2nd and 3rd

Celebrating over 35 years, the Ocean to Bay Bike Tour presented by The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce is slated for Friday, May 2nd & Saturday, May 3rd. This award-winning cycling tour brings 2,000 cyclists to the Quiet Resorts each spring to bike through southern Delaware’s scenic beaches, bays, and beyond. Cyclists have the choice of a 10-, 30-, 50-, 62- (metric century), or 100 (century) mile ride on flat terrain through the Quiet Resorts. The ride includes live music, delicious food, giveaways, multiple rest stops with beautiful vistas, a complimentary long sleeve shirt, and more. Custom jersey and shirt add-ons and a boxed lunch from DiFebo’s Market are also available with registration.

Saturday riders can register as an individual or as part of team of 6+ cyclists. View the event page for pricing details. Starting on April 1st, registration prices will increase. To register online, at oceantobaybiketour.com. Proceeds from the Saturday ride will benefit Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company, The Justin W. Jennings Foundation, Contractors for a Cause, and other local first responders. Believe in Tomorrow will also be an on-site beneficiary as they host the Ocean to Bay Bike Tour Prize Wheel where cyclists can spin to win prizes offered from local businesses! In addition to the Saturday tour, there will be a 10-mile Coastal Cruise on Friday, May 2nd, and Saturday, May 3rd featuring an out-and-back route from Bethany Beach to the Big Chill Beach Club at the Indian River Inlet. Cyclists of all levels can take in the beautiful coastal scenery on this relaxing ride. Proceeds from the Coastal Cruise will benefit the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays. Coastal Cruise pre-registration is $35 cyclists can add this as a combo option onto their Saturday ride at a discounted rate.

The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Southern Delaware Tourism, would like to thank the sponsors for making this event possible. In 2024, cyclists from 23 different states participated in the Bike Tour which raised over $10,000 for event beneficiaries.

The Award Ceremony will be held April 5, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at the Selbyville Public Library.

Selbyville Hometown Heroes Banner Program

Hometown Heroes Banner Program Logo

The Selbyville Hometown Heroes Banner Program is a living tribute designed to honor and recognize the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces, whether currently enlisted or veterans.

To qualify for the program, Veterans and active military personnel must have a familial or historical connection to Selbyville—this could include attending school, having relatives in the area, etc. Those honored on War Memorials and Veterans, as recommended by the local VFW and American Legion Posts, are also eligible.

Each banner will be 30″ x 60″, crafted from durable Sunbrella material, printed on both sides. The banner will feature the hero’s photograph, their full name, branch of the Military, and the era of service (e.g., WWI, WWII, Vietnam, etc.). These banners will be displayed along Cemetery Road, Main Street, and Church Street in Selbyville.

To participate, please fill out the application (linked below), submit a photograph of the hero in uniform, and note that submissions are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IS JULY 4, 2025.

There will be an Election on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., prevailing time, at the Selbyville Town Hall, 1 West Church Street, Selbyville, Delaware.

The Election is to fill two (2) Councilmember seats for a term of two (2) years which will be March 2025 to March 2027.

 

Candidates for Councilmembers are as follows:

Timothy O. Grote

 

Qualifications to vote are as follows:

To have registered with the Town by February 10, 2025, be at least 18 years of age, be a U.S. Citizen, and be a Bona Fide resident of the town.
