Fire and Ice Festival – “A Weekend for the Books” Kicks Off January 31st
Now in its eighth year, the award-winning Fire and Ice Festival is set to begin on Friday, January 31st with a “Weekend for the Books” theme! Come to downtown Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Millville, Frankford and beyond to experience the Quiet Resorts jam-packed with winter fun! Festival goers can enjoy multiple walking ice tours throughout the festival weekend. Enjoy over  75 ice sculptures including 4 live carving demonstrations by The Ice God and internationally renowned artists. Spectacular festivities include a large skating rink with a live DJ adding to the fun, a huge kids inflatables kingdom, magic shows, a beer garden boasting a 900 square foot inflatable pub, a chili cookoff, drink tasting tour, live music, bonfires, and — of course — a seasonal stop at your favorite shops, restaurants, and businesses.

This event is presented by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, Bethany Beach Ocean Suites, Southern Delaware Tourism, Bethany Beach Books, the Town of Bethany Beach, the Town of Ocean View, the Town of Millville, Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery, State Farm Agent Billy Reese, and over 70 other local businesses.

The festival’s “A Weekend for the Books” theme means fun for the whole family – come enjoy seeing your favorite stories, books, and characters masterfully from ice. “There is nothing like winter crowds. The magnificent works of ice art and the energy that comes from the community spirit throughout the beautiful parks, towns, and beaches is astounding”, says Lauren Weaver, executive director of the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce. “The support of local businesses is what makes this event a success. This event is fully sponsored by Chamber businesses, and local community members, many of whom are working together to make it memorable for all festival guests.” Last year’s festival raised nearly $40,000 in charitable donations for multiple non-profit organizations and event beneficiaries!
