Following the recent countywide reassessment, the Town has adjusted its tax rates to keep any increases for residents and businesses to a minimum. These calls are fraudulent and may attempt to pressure you for personal information or money. Similar scams have been reported in nearby areas. ***What you should do: -Do not give out personal information or payment over the phone. -Hang up immediately if the call feels suspicious. -Remember: Law enforcement will never demand money or threaten arrest over the phone. -Report any suspicious calls to your local police department. We encourage everyone to stay alert and share this information with friends and family to help prevent others from becoming victims.
